Privacy policy

This is a plain-language draft for the beta. It will be reviewed by a lawyer before public launch.

The short version

• Your lists are private to your family.
• We don't sell your data and we don't show ads.
• The person on a list never sees who reserved or bought a gift from it.
• Kids under 13 don't get their own login. A parent adds them and looks after their list.
• We never ask for a birth year, just the month and day if you want birthday reminders.
• You can delete your account from inside the app at any time.

What we collect

• Your email address, to send you a sign-in code.
• What you add: names of the people in your family, how they're related to you, birthday month and day if you add one, occasions, wishes, notes and any photos you choose to add.
• Shopping activity such as reservations and purchase steps. These are kept separately and only shown to shoppers, never to the person on the list.
• Basic technical logs needed to run the service and fix problems.
• Launch email list: if you leave your email on this website, we use it only to tell you when the app is available. We don't share it, and you can ask us to remove it at any time.

Services we use

• Supabase hosts the database, sign-in and private photo storage.
• Resend sends sign-in code emails.
• Google Gemini identifies an item when you search by words or use a photo. Only the words or photo you send for that lookup go to Google. Family names are removed from searches before they're sent, and location and camera details are removed from photos.
• UPCitemdb and Open Food Facts look up barcodes. Only the barcode number is sent.
• Cloudflare hosts this website.
• Apple distributes the app.

Children

Wish & Wrap is for people 13 and older. Children under 13 can only appear as a profile managed by a parent or guardian, and they don't sign in. Teens 13 to 17 can have their own account and keep their own list.

Your choices

• Edit or remove wishes, people and occasions at any time.
• Revoke any shared link from the app.
• Delete your account in the app under Settings. This removes your account and lists.
